Plebian Grandstand/How Hate Is Hard To Define/Throatruiner Records/2010 CD Review

Plebian  Grandstand  are  a  band  from  France  that  plays  a  mixture  sludge,  crust,  grind  and  hardcore  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2010  album  "How  Hate  Is  Hard  To  Define"  which  was  released  by  Throatruiner  Records.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  is  coming  out  of  the  guitars  and  at  times  they  have  a  powerful  sound  to  them.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  riffs  that  combine  sludge,  grind,  crust  and  hardcore  together  with  some  dark  sounding  melodies  being  thrown  in  at  times  with  one  song  having  a  riff  that  has  a  black metal  feeling  to  it  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  this  recording.

Vocals  are  a  mixture  of  high  pitched  sludge  screams  and  growls  mixed  in  with  a  great  amount  of  hardcore  influences,  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  a  mixture  of  French  and  English  and  cover  hateful  themes, as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  heavy  and  underground  feeling  to  it.

In  my  opinion  Plebian  Grandstand  are  a  very  great  sounding  sludge/crust/hardcore  hybrid  band  and if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  stylr,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE   "Ordo  Ab  Chao"  "Mein  Koph  Ist  Meine  Heimut"  "Easy  To  Hate,  Hard  To  Define"  and  "[...] Or  Boring".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
